Marcus Lounsberry, Jr., Performs a Hazardous Feat at Fishkill

FISHKILL LANDING, N.Y., Feb. 4.--
Marcus Lounsberry, Jr., yesterday performed a feat that was witnessed by hundreds of people on this side of the river. Lounsberry is employed by the Homer Ramsdell Transportation Company as a deck hand. The river has been frozen over between this place and Newburg only a few days. People only began to cross on it yesterday. All Winter the ferry has been running.

Although the name is a bit strange, the site is pretty useful for family historians. It allows users to share calendars, news, photos, histories, and files with group members. In beta, the current version allows one to upload a total of 20MB monthly and use a total of 50MB of disk space.

I spent my Saturday researching Belcher family history at the New England Historic Genealogical Society Research Library in Boston, Massachusetts. The morning went pretty well as I found a number of probate and other records referring to the Belcher family.
