Man's Sudden Death
Paul Peha, an Austrian residing at 135 William Street, died suddenly this morning. Coroner Buss was summoned and had Dr. Sweeney perform a post mortem examination. The physician gave it as his opinion that the man had died from paralysis of the heart, induced by acute indigestion. He was forty years old and is survived by his wife.
PECKA - At his residence, Quassaick Avenue, Town of New Windsor, N.Y., Tuesday , June 26, 1934, John P. Pecka, beloved husband of Mary Sopka Pecka.
Funeral will be held at the residence Saturday, June 30, 1934, at 5:30 o'clock, thence to the Church of St. Francis Assisi, Benkard Avenue, this city, where at 9:30 o'clock a solemn Mass of requiem will be offered to which relatives, friends, officers, and members of Assemby No. 23, S. T. J. Sokol of Newburgh and Assembly No. 59, National Slovak Society, are invited.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons and evenings.
Alfred "Alfie" Caron
Alfred "Alfie" Caron of Marlboro, a landscaper and lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, Jan. 4, at home. He was 53.
The son of Helen Pecka Caron and the late Edward Caron, he was Aug. 3, 1944, in Newburgh.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Barbara Kovarnik Caron, at home; one daughter, Claudean Marie Caron, at home; one brother, Edward Caron of Hudson; two sisters, Rose Stanford and Bertha Travers, both of New Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by DiDonato Funeral Home, Marlboro.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
Helen A. Caron
New Windsor, NY
Helen A. Caron of New Windsor, a homemaker, employee for many years at Newburgh Laundry and lifelong resident of the area, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, in Sylcox Health Care Center in Newburgh. She was 87.
The daughter of the late John and Mary Pecka, she was born Oct. 3, 1910, in New Windsor.
She was the widow of Edward C. Caron, Sr., who died Dec. 17, 1968.
Mrs. Caron was retired from the Ladies Auxilliary of the Quassaick Fire Co. of New Windsor and member of the National Slovack Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Stanford and Bertha Traver, both of New Windsor; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Caron of Marlboro; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
