My issue with KnowFat

There is a restaurant near where I work called KnowFat and occassionally people like to order from there for lunch. However, everytime they do, I want to cry. Disclaimer: I talk a lot about light salad dressings, however I do not know the ingredients in their salad dressing as I could not find it on their website. However, the one I had the last time I got food from there reminded me greatly of the lite salad dressings you can get in stores and in other restaurants both in terms of taste and consistency. I can not be sure what the cause is (sugar-substitute, sugar, or other stuff), but I do know it makes me sick to my stomach.
- First they concentrate mainly on lower fat/fat-free dishes. This is a huge problem for me as many of the tricks companies use to accomplish this and still make food taste good either involve added simple sugars or uses artificial chemicals. Case in point, light/lite salad dressings. Almost all of them make me sick. The only brand I've found that I can use is Newman's Own. Most light dressings use sugar/sugar-substitute to make up for the lack of oil (oil contributes both flavor and thickening). However, Newman's Own mainly just adds more vinegar and water to replace the missing oil. I prefer this and it doesn't make me sick to my stomach.
- They try to make their food look as conventional as possible. It's the same problem I have with veggie burgers. If it looks like what I want to eat but doesn't taste like it, then I feel jipped. The problem with our expanding waistlines can not be solved by making foods that look and taste like the foods we want to eat, it can only be solved by changing the way we eat. Give me sweet potato fries (higher in fiber) or carrot sticks instead of "air fried" potatoes.
- This brings me to my next problem with them. I would rather have really good tasting, healthy food in smaller portions than what I consider to be rather unappetizing food in large quantities. I don't want them to give me the same amount of food as McDonalds or a restaurant would, at the same quality level. I want yummy veggie rollups with grilled chicken coated with a bit of olive oil, a little vinegar, and maybe some herbs and spices. Don't give me light dressing in the traditional bottled sense. Give me Newman's Own, give me something like it, please, anything but what they serve now.
Please for the love of god people, be original, be true to the food, or, if you must continue as you are, at least offer the rest of us a regular salad dressing, preferablly balsamic vinagrette.
