The Worst Show On Television

The sites/tracy.hurleyit.com/files/img_thumbnails is not writeable

Ok, this may come as a shock, so hold on to your socks. The new ABC sitcom staring Brian Austin Green and Freddie Prinze Jr is terrible. Last night around 8:30, after watching Anchorman for the 3rd time this week and roughly the 47th time overall, I stumbled upon Freddie on ABC. Part fatigue and part morbid curiosity, I stopped to check it out. The intense story line was as follows: ‘Tis the season for a Christmas party, so Freddie invites his neighbors in the complex to celebrate with his family and friends. But when a jealous neighbor reports to the board that Freddie is breaking the rules by having too many people living in his condo, Freddie has to get a petition signed by the majority of the tenants allowing them to stay. However, when Freddie goes door to door, he realizes his neighbors share no good will towards his family, who have not been very conscientious — but can he win them over now? I lasted maybe 10 minutes before throwing the remote down in disgust, and getting up to go pour bleach in my eyes and jam q-tips into my ears. Sadly, I will never know if Freddie won over his neighbors. I am guessing he did. I literally felt embarrassed for anyone and everyone that is involved with this show, except for the writers who should immediately have their Writer’s Guild cards revoked. What were these people thinking? I mean, I guess Brian Austin Green gets a pass for being on Beverly Hills 90210, but what has Freddie Prinze Jr ever done besides becoming the first homosexual actor to marry a straight actress and not have anyone really care? Aside from a game show where winners got a chance to punch Freddie in the vagina, I don’t see any real scenario where a show involving him could last more than 5 episodes. If you want to see this horror for yourself, check out the clips below. The best part of these “promo” videos, is that they are apparently shot without a laugh track. The result is an eerily quiet background to all of the “jokes”, which is a far more representative of most people’s reactions, than the 80’s recorded laughter they play over the scenes on TV. I’m not sure what the contractual commitment ABC has to this show, but I am predicting that this will be 100% canceled by mid January. Warning: If you have eyes, ears, feelings, or a reasonable sense of humor, these clips may make you uncomfortable. Clip 1 (Windows Media Player)Clip 2 (Windows Media Player)
