DealLocker.com - Or Why I Fell Off the Face of the Earth

The sites/tracy.hurleyit.com/files/img_thumbnails is not writeable

tracy — Tue, 07/31/2007 - 17:49

In the beginning of May, I left my office job to become an independent contractor, again. I am now the lead (and only) developer at a great coupon and promo code site, Deal Locker.

One of the awesome things about the new job is the constant interaction with new technologies. In particular, I am learning more about lighttpd (a lighter-weight server), memcached (a caching system), (a search engine), and fastcgi. In addition, my understanding of the MVC pattern is improving dramatically and I hope to move the site to using the Catalyst framework.

My hope is that things have settled a bit more now and I can write about those great technologies and new ones I come across. And feel free to take a look at the site and tell me what you think.
