The practice of using consumer panels to estimate Web-site traffic is coming under increased scrutiny and fueling calls for industrywide standards.

This is a really interesting article about the nuances of tracking web traffic. We ran into this problem at work recently even just comparing Google Analytics versus a self-hosted program that processes the web logs.
