Norman J. Eddy, 83, of Stockdale Circle, Rollinsford, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at his home following a short illness.
Born in Boston, Mass., Aug. 21, 1920, he was the son of the late Newman J. and Louise (Reid) Eddy.
Mr. Eddy was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1939. He was a United States Army veteran of W.W.II, having served with Battery C, 776th Anti Aircraft Battalion.
He was a machinist for General Electric for 41 years, having spent most of his career at the Everett, Mass., plant. He and his wife, Irene, moved here in 1987 from South Hamilton, Mass., where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of South Hamilton.
Family members include his wife, Irene M. (George) Eddy, of Rollinsford, whom he married Jan. 12, 1947; two sons, Karl N. Eddy and his wife, Mary, of Danvers, Mass., and Kurt W. Eddy and his fiancée, Lynn Marcus, of Beverly; two daughters, Kristen L. Callahan and her husband, Daniel, of Ipswich, Mass., and Kara L. Eddy of Rollinsford; one brother, Warren Eddy of Lynn, Mass.; one sister, Lillian Hurley of Fla.; a sister-in-law, Martha Eddy; six grandchildren, Mary Callahan, Michael Callahan and Emily Callahan, all of Ipswich, Mass., Mark Eddy of York, Maine, and James Eddy and Joseph Eddy, both of Laconia, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Eddy was predeceased by a brother, James Eddy, and a sister, Florence Hossack.
There will be no calling hours.
A private memorial service will be conducted at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, with burial taking place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mr. Eddy to the Boys and Girls Club of Lynn, 25 North Common St., Lynn, MA 01902, attn: Mr. Robert Barker.
